When our founder, Marissa Prejean, started in travel, she often felt like she was navigating it all by herself. She spent countless hours researching answers for clients and wishing she had someone to guide her. Over the past ten years, she built a thriving Disney-focused travel agency through hard work, community, and expert knowledge. Now her mission is simple: every new advisor on our team gets the support she didn't have. Today, the Castles and Cruises team is the community Marissa wished she had when she started.

What makes a great Castles and Cruises advisor
A passion for and knowledge of Disney or Universal Orlando is a must. A few other things that make a great fit:
- Friends, community, or online connections, and a willingness to network
- A background in, or comfort with, sales and customer service
- Time for training sessions, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to ask for help
- Personal travel experience at Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando
- Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, or Adventures by Disney experience is a plus, not a must
- Comfortable with technology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A self-starter who sets goals and meets them
- Willingness to complete a background check
Travel industry experience is helpful but not required. We'll train you.

After an interview and background check, you'll begin your training, including the College of Disney Knowledge, Universal Orlando Resort training, and in-house training opportunities, with support from our agency leadership. We'll help you through your first booking.
Our advisors build and grow their own book of clients. From time to time, Castles and Cruises Travel Company also provides leads to advisors. Each advisor receives a personalized website page designed to support their marketing and online presence. These pages are optimized for search using modern technology, helping prospective travelers find their advisor online.
No. Disney doesn't hire travel agents directly; it works with authorized travel agencies. As a Castles and Cruises advisor, you're an independent contractor with our agency, a Gold Level EarMarked by Disney Authorized Travel Agency, which means you're working with an agency in strong standing with Disney.
Disney's College of Disney Knowledge training is free. We'll walk you through how our program works, including any costs, during your interview.
Travel advisors earn commission from suppliers like Disney on the vacations they book, and commission is typically paid after your clients travel, not when they book. We'll explain how commissions work with our agency, including our commission tiers, during your interview.
No. Travel industry experience is helpful but not required. A love of Disney or Universal Orlando, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn matter most. We'll train you.
Yes. Our advisors run their businesses from home and work part-time or full-time. Many came to us from other careers looking for more flexibility, and part-time advisors can be very successful.
EarMarked by Disney is Disney's program recognizing authorized travel agencies for their Disney expertise and performance. Castles and Cruises Travel Company is a Gold Level EarMarked by Disney Authorized Travel Agency, so you'll be part of an agency with an established relationship with Disney.
A Disney travel agent helps families and travelers plan and book Disney vacations, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney. That includes recommending resorts and tickets, planning park days and dining, monitoring promotions, and supporting clients from booking through their return home. Our advisors also plan Universal Orlando vacations, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and more.
Every new advisor completes the College of Disney Knowledge and Universal Orlando Resort training, along with in-house training opportunities. After that, you're welcome to train with our supplier partners as your business grows. Your training follows the destinations and travel you choose to focus on.
The College of Disney Knowledge is Disney's official training program for travel professionals, and every Castles and Cruises advisor completes it. There's no official "Certified Disney Travel Agent" credential; what matters is completing Disney's training and working with an authorized agency like ours.
No. As a Castles and Cruises advisor, you book under our agency's accreditations, including our IATAN accreditation and Florida Seller of Travel registration, so you don't need your own agency accreditation to get started. We'll walk you through any requirements during onboarding.
Our advisors are independent contractors. You run your own travel business while benefiting from our agency's training, support, supplier relationships, and team community.
Yes. Our advisors can book their own family's vacations.
